Teacher of the Week: Ms. Michele Dorvil

Career Academy High School is proud to recognize Ms. Michele Dorvil as our Teacher of the Week! Please join us in celebrating her dedication to our students and school community.

Ms. Michele Dorvil has been a dedicated educator at Career Academy High School for the past five years, where she teaches in the Biomedical Pathway. While she enjoys inspiring students through science and healthcare-related courses, her favorite class she has ever taught is Entrepreneurship.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Dorvil shares her home with five dogs and seven lizards. Some of her favorite things include pizza, coffee-flavored candy, and the color yellow.

As a teacher, her proudest moments come when she sees a student's face light up after finally understanding a challenging concept. Helping students achieve those breakthrough moments is what makes teaching so rewarding for her.

Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Kate Zumbrun

Career Academy High School is proud to recognize Mrs. Kate Zumbrun as our Teacher of the Week! Please join us in celebrating her dedication to our students and school community.

Mrs. Kate Zumbrun is one of our dual credit math teachers. She teaches college algebra, trigonometry, calculus, geometry, and the exercise science pathway classes. Mrs. Zumbrun is married and has two dogs and is expecting her first child any day. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and camping. This is the 6th year teaching at Career Academy High School.

Thank you, Mrs. Zumbrun, for the impact you make at Career Academy High School. We appreciate everything you do for our students!

Join us on October 1 as Career Academy High School Volleyball takes on Triton for a special Dig Pink Night.

This will be more than a game. We will honor those touched by cancer between the JV and Varsity match and come together as a school community to show support, strength, and hope.

Kaira and Rod are both Career Academy Network of Public Schools graduates, and Kaira is already helping run a business at just 21 years old!

Stories like this are a great example of what career-connected learning is all about—giving students real-world skills, experiences, and opportunities that prepare them for success beyond graduation.
