Our September Montessori Family Connection is here! 🍎🌿

This month’s edition focuses on the important partnership between families and teachers, as well as practical ways families can support independence in everyday routines at home. Take a few minutes to read and enjoy! 💚

🌅 The sun was rising, and our Marquette Dragons were already hard at work this morning! 🐉

By 7:30 AM, students were eating breakfast, settling into their classrooms, and independently getting started with their Montessori work cycles.

This morning was a great example of what we love about Montessori- students entering their learning environment ready to work, making purposeful choices, and taking ownership of their learning from the very beginning of the day.

At Marquette, we get after it early! 💪📚

🌼 Kindness is blooming at Marquette! 🌼

Last week Mrs. V and Mrs. Hilary’s class gathered flowers to share with our staff and brighten their day! 💐

It’s never too early to teach kindness, thoughtfulness, and the joy of making someone else smile. 💛🐉

✨ Montessori in Action! ✨

We’re only in our first week of school, and our classrooms are already full of learning! 💚

Students are exploring hands-on materials, receiving Montessori lessons, creating, problem-solving, working independently, and learning alongside one another. From practical life and art to math, language, and everything in between, our students are already settling into the rhythm of their classroom communities.

One of the things we love most about Montessori is seeing children actively engaged in their own learning—and these pictures capture that beautifully. 🌿

What a wonderful start to the school year at Marquette! ❤️

Mrs. Shedrow’s students created insulators for ice cubes in their experiment today: Heat transfer, states of matter, engineering/problem solving. Some of them prevented the ice cube from melting for 20 minutes and they’re going to check back tomorrow morning

This is a group of Ms. Hartle’s second graders who are doing a research project on insects. They have been learning all about them the last few weeks and they have gotten so into it. They came up with some new questions to ask that they wanted answered about insects, so cool!
