Today, to celebrate Earth Day, we used a globe to teach the children about our planet and how to take care of it. The children also watered our small garden, observing how plants grow and learning the importance of caring for nature. Outside, we worked on painting a mural of the Earth, using blue and green paint to represent the oceans and land.

During these activities, we worked on several developmental areas, including science and nature (learning about the Earth and plant care), fine motor skills (watering plants and painting), creative arts (expressing ideas through the mural), social-emotional development (working together and caring for the environment), and language development (discussing how to protect our planet).

Mural Familiar

El día de hoy realizamos una actividad llamada “Mural Familiar”, en la cual los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir y representar a sus familias a través del arte. Cada niño participó con entusiasmo, utilizando diferentes materiales para crear su propio mural, lo que permitió fomentar su creatividad, expresión emocional y habilidades motrices finas.

Esta actividad es muy importante, ya que la familia es el primer entorno social del niño. A través de ella, los pequeños aprenden valores, normas, formas de comunicación y desarrollan un sentido de seguridad y pertenencia. Hablar sobre sus familias y representarlas en actividades artísticas fortalece su autoestima, identidad y vínculos afectivos.

Además, este tipo de experiencias promueve el respeto hacia la diversidad familiar, ayudando a los niños a comprender que cada familia es única y especial.

nuestros niños de preK el día de hoy trabajamos el área de Arte. Nuestra actividad consistió en la creación de play-doh casero, con el cual los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de explorar, combinar y mezclar diferentes materiales. A través de esta experiencia, estimularon su motricidad fina al amasar, moldear y manipular la masa.

El arte en la primera infancia es fundamental, ya que permite a los niños expresarse libremente, desarrollar su creatividad e imaginación, y fortalecer habilidades sensoriales. Mediante actividades artísticas como esta, los pequeños no solo se divierten, sino que también experimentan, descubren texturas y colores, y desarrollan confianza en sus propias creaciones.

Today we celebrated Artsy Thursday: a day to encourage creativity!
Art exploration helps children develop their imagination, express themselves freely, and discover new ways to create.

For this activity, we used ink sponges as stamps. The children stamped on the paper and were able to observe the shapes they created, exploring how each figure appeared when they pressed the sponge. This experience allowed them to experiment with textures, shapes, and pattern repetition in a fun and sensory way.

Work Together Wednesday: April 15

Today, we celebrated teamwork and focused on the three C’s – communication, collaboration, and cooperation! The children worked together in the sandbox, where they excitedly searched for and discovered hidden dinosaurs. As they dug, shared tools, and took turns, they practiced working as a team, helping one another, and communicating their ideas.

Inside the classroom, we continued building teamwork skills by using the parachute filled with balls. The children worked together to lift it up and down, watching the balls bounce and move. This activity encouraged cooperation, listening, and group coordination while having lots of fun!
