Well really whenever you’d like to. But did you know? 🌿you don’t need to wash your baby right away, even at the hospital. You can decline a bath. We actually encourage you to wait and here’s why : 🌿the vernix is amazing! That sticky, white coating on the outside of your baby after birth can help moisturize your baby’s skin and protect against bacteria. 🌿removing right away after birth can interfere with the golden hour to initiate breastfeeding and skin to skin. 🌿baby aren’t “dirty” when they’re born. 🌿exposing babies to water can decrease their temperature as they are unable to regulate it on their own. These recommendations are from the WHO organization, who recommends atleast 6 hours after birth.
