We are so excited to get back to marching band rehearsal in just over a month, and to announce our fall 2026 field show, “Dust & Gold” with musical selections from western cinema! Can’t wait to see everyone on Friday nights! Go Sobos!

Congratulations to recent graduate, Emily, on your fine arts scholarship!

Congratulations to Emily “Moe” Morgan, the recipient of the Fine Arts Scholarship for High School Seniors!

Emily is a recent graduate of South Beloit High School who will focus on architecture as her fine arts major. According to her nominators, Emily has an extremely positive spirit and strong ability to connect with others, showing empathy and turning stressful moments into manageable ones.

After her mother died during her high school years, Emily has grown into a confident self-advocate, a skill that will serve her well in college. Besides being an accomplished visual artist, she is also a musician who has “overcome performance anxiety…into playing an incredible and difficult solo in a concert.”

Womanspace is proud to support Emily “Moe” Morgan, and we look forward to seeing her as a rising star in architecture!

First annual Riverview 4th Grade instrument testing day! Thanks to Ms. Dobson for letting us take over music class and get some sound made on band instruments, and special shoutout to Kamryn and Mason who came back to help me out!

We are looking forward to some GREAT band and choir numbers for 5th grade next year! 🎵

It was hot, many musicians one to a part, but this band played their hearts out this morning on the parade route! We are always happy to represent our school district in such a great parade. Thank you, seniors, for coming back to march - and congratulations on your final Sobo band performance! Thank you for the legacy you have left for this program.

The Sobos are home from Chicago!

Day two was a little less packed than day one. After breakfast and hotel checkout, we:

• went to Skydeck Chicago, where we got to walk through a Chicago museum, get cool (but cloudy!) views of the city, and go on the ledge - a super high-up glass box looking straight down at the street! Yes, they got me (Packett) on it - check the comments for the hilarious video
• spent a couple hours at Navy Pier for lunch and some shopping! Packett is biased towards Billy Goat Tavern’s burgers, and some of our other groups had fun in a maze and seeing the Ferris wheel up close!
• drove over to Millenium Park to see the bean!

We had a wonderful time on this trip - if you have photos to share, please put them in the comments so we can see! Thank you again to the community for all the support getting our students on this trip, and a thousand thank yous to the chaperones who went along to make sure we could have a fun, safe time!
