Pumpkin Jack in Science!

Ms. Rao's second graders kicked off their Pumpkin Jack science activity today! Students began to explore the life cycle of a pumpkin and learn about decomposition through hands-on observation. Students are excited to watch how their pumpkin changes over time and see science come to life in the classroom!

Mrs. Harris' second graders worked on verb tenses! First, they worked with a partner to write a sentence with verb in either present or future tense, and then they illustrated their sentence. They worked on past tense verbs with a fun game of "Freeze Dance." They danced while the music played, but as soon as it stopped, they had to write the verb on the board in past tense on a paper on the floor.

It’s Fire Safety Week at SLE!

Our students enjoyed a special visit from local firefighters. They got an up-close look at the protective gear firefighters wear, learned about the tools they use, and even had the chance to explore the fire trucks! 🚒

A little reading, a little mixing, and a whole lot of SLIME! 🧪💚

Fifth graders in Mrs. Brockman’s class brought procedural texts to life by following step-by-step directions to create slime! Students practiced sequencing and following instructions while discovering why every step matters.
