FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture educat

ion. Agriculture Education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resources systems. The official name of the organization is National FFA Organization. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversity and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture. Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.

Things are already blooming in the HJ Floral Department! 🌼🌿❤️💙

It may only be the beginning of the school year, but these hands are already getting to work! A few of our floral students jumped in to help Mrs. Champagne put the finishing touches on a little side project today, and we couldn’t resist sharing a peek.

There is just something exciting about seeing flowers on the design tables, students working with their hands, and creativity already starting to grow.

If this is what the beginning looks like, we can’t wait to see what blooms this year. 🌸

And just like that… The Aerie is officially OPEN for business! 🌹🦅

Tomorrow, our very first arrangement goes out the door!

Aerie Floral Co. is Hardin-Jefferson’s student-run floral shop, giving our students the opportunity to take what they learn in the classroom and put it into practice through real customer orders.

From processing flowers and designing arrangements to pricing, customer service, marketing, quality control, and everything that happens behind the scenes, The Aerie is where floral design meets real-world experience.

And today, these guys helped make our very first order happen. ❤️💙

There’s something pretty special about the moment students realize the arrangement in their hands isn’t just another class assignment. Someone ordered it. Someone is receiving it. And their work represents HJ.

Tomorrow, arrangement #1 leaves The Aerie.

Completed order forms need to be turned in to Mrs. Odom or Mrs. Champagne by August 25 so we can make sure everything is submitted on time.

Join us for our first HJ FFA informational meeting of the year!

Students and parents are invited to learn about the many opportunities available through FFA, including leadership and judging contests, livestock showing, upcoming events, membership, and ways to get involved.

Whether you are interested in competing, showing an animal, developing leadership skills, or simply discovering what FFA has to offer, come find out why FFA is kind of a big dill!

DAY ONE and we’ve already moved onto the Ag Shop porch. 😂🪑🌾

Mrs. Odom and Mrs. Champagne reporting for parking lot duty… and yes, we brought our own rockers.

Because why stand when you can supervise in style? 😎

The kids may have thought we were joking when we said we’d be watching… but apparently we’ve entered our rocking chair era. 😂

Day 1 is officially in the books, the rockers have found their home, and we are SO excited for everything this year has in store for HJ FFA! 💙💛

Now all this porch is missing is a couple of sweet teas. 🧋

💙💛 DID WE FIND A FEW FUTURE FFA MEMBERS TONIGHT? 👀

Tonight, our incoming freshmen attended the annual event hosted by HJ Student Council, and this year’s theme was “Find Your Pitch!” 🎤

Of course, HJ FFA had to make our pitch! Our members took the stage to give the Class of 2030 a glimpse of what FFA has to offer: leadership, competitions, travel, hands-on experiences, friendships, and plenty of opportunities to find where they belong.

We may be a little biased, but we think FFA is a pretty great pitch. 💙💛

Incoming freshmen, we hope we sparked your interest tonight. Whether you already know FFA is for you or you’re just curious about what that blue jacket could hold, there’s a place for you here.

⭐ Meet Your 2026-2027 HJ FFA Chapter President, Michaela Steward! ⭐

Leading with heart, serving with purpose, and always looking for ways to make HJ FFA stronger, Michaela is excited to serve as this year’s Chapter President.

As a junior, she’s passionate about creating opportunities for every member to get involved and experience everything FFA has to offer. Whether you’re a first-year member or a seasoned competitor, Michaela hopes to help you find your place in our chapter.

Fun fact: She’s an only child… but she’s definitely not afraid to lead a crowd! And if you’re looking for her at Buc-ee’s, she’s grabbing a bag of beef jerky before hitting the road. 🤠

⭐ Meet Your HJ FFA Vice President, Bryleigh McShan! ⭐

Bryleigh’s FFA journey began in 7th grade, and from that moment on, she knew she wanted to become an officer. Now, as this year’s Vice President, she’s excited to help lead our chapter, welcome new members, and continue building something special at HJ FFA.

When she’s not serving our chapter, you might find her snacking on chocolate-covered almonds from Buc-ee’s or talking about one of her proudest accomplishments: earning Reserve Grand Champion in her very first year of showing market rabbits! 🐇🏆

We’re excited to have Bryleigh serving on the 2026-2027 HJ FFA Officer Team and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make this year!

📝 Meet Your HJ FFA Secretary, Faith Baldonado! 📝

Faith is a sophomore who believes that stepping into leadership is one of the best ways to grow. As this year’s Chapter Secretary, she’s excited to become more involved, serve her fellow members, and help make a positive impact on our chapter.

Fun fact… Faith is one of eight siblings! Talk about learning teamwork from an early age! 🤠 And if you’re looking for her favorite Buc-ee’s snack, you’ll find her reaching for the Golden Nuggets.
