Proud of our kids today! Our Transonic Rocket teams have been working hard all year and were able to launch their rockets today. One was able to launch, had a great flight and chute deployment.

The other group got through all of their checks smoothly and quick, but had several leaks at the launch pad. After a lot of troubleshooting, it was determined to be a faulty engine bell. Rather than risk the rocket, the decision was made to replace the faulty part and launch in Anahuac this Thursday.

Kids get a bad rap sometimes by adults for being lazy, but these guys made me so proud as a teacher. There were tears, anger, joy, smiles and every emotion in between but they worked together and pulled off a feat that not many people can say they have done!

Way to go guys and gals!

What a great experience today for the Hardin Jefferson Rocket Program!

A special thank you to Adam Leger, Jeff Leger, Big Jeff Leger, John Greak, Renee Greak, Paul Sachitano and all the folks at Twin County Air-Ag! Got to watch their planes and systems get tested and calibrated as well as receive valuable insight from engineering professionals in a real world setting!

We enjoyed visiting the Rocket Engineering class at Hardin Jefferson High School and learning more about their plans to launch a rocket in the near future! Our team was impressed by the students’ knowledge, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the project, and we can’t wait to see the results of their launch. The Valero Port Arthur Refinery is proud to support this innovative program through a donation to the Hardin Jefferson Education Foundation and help make hands-on learning opportunities like this possible. 🚀

Hardin-Jefferson's senior rocket team has trained since they were freshman to launch a 30-foot rocket that's expected to reach 50,000 feet.

A big thank you to William Toon of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas and Carol Hebert of Valero for coming to Hardin Jefferson on Friday and sitting in on the Preliminary Design Review for one of our rocket program’s transonic rockets.

The collaboration between industry professionals and students is a wonderful thing to watch as a teacher!

So proud to be a part of SystemsGo! We have a great thing going at HJ.

This is from our Rocket 3 team who has teamed up with Coach Moore and his program at Anahuac again this year in an attempt to launch a custom built rocket to travel to 50,000 feet at Whitesands Missle Range in New Mexico this summer.

Proud of our kids at all levels! Friday, our Transonic group presented their preliminary design review to area engineers and professionals. Was amazed at their poise, knowledge and professionalism, especially being able to answer some pretty tough questions.

If knowledge is gained by doing, then these kids are learning a lot!

And a great time was had by all!!! Today our Goddard level rocket team hosted a stem camp for our area elementary and jr high students. After designing and building their model rockets, all were launched and had intact recoveries!

day one of the Wings Over Houston Airshow…. More to come tonight, but launching two large rockets at the same time with a new motor configuration for the first time, is PRETTY ambitious! We’re able to launch one after the other. Great flights!!! Had some recovery issues, but will make adjustments for tomorrow’s show! Proud of all the kids from HJ and Anahiac!
