🍂🌱 Learning to care for God’s creation!

Dock Middle School Eco-Steward Service learning students were busy adding leaf litter to the garden beds to help insulate young saplings through the winter. As the leaves break down, they’ll also enrich the soil and create natural compost.

In addition, as students learned how birds and mammals spread seeds, they removed berry-bearing branches from invasive Japanese Honeysuckle, filling two 55-gallon trash bags! This effort will help limit its spread across campus and throughout the neighborhood.

Through hands-on learning, our students are discovering how small acts of stewardship can make a big difference for the environment! 🌳💚

🐛🌿 Little Explorers, BIG Discoveries! 🔍
Our Kindergarten students headed to Dock’s Nature Trail for some hands-on woods exploration with Middle School Science and STEM teacher Ms. Kim Pavia!
Armed with magnifying glasses and tweezers, our young scientists explored the fascinating world of crawling creatures! Students learned about their habitats, carefully caught and observed their tiny discoveries, and then gently released their crawling friends back into nature.
What a wonderful opportunity to spark curiosity, explore the outdoors, and learn about caring for God’s creation!
Big thanks to Ms. Pavia for sharing her love of science with our youngest learners! 🐞🌳

Math + Service = Learning in Action! 🧮🎲

Today, our Dock Middle School Service Learning students put their planning into action by hosting a special after-school Math Club for our 2nd graders!

Over the past several weeks, students organized and promoted the event, researched age-appropriate activities, talked with Mrs. Taylor, tested games, and prepared to lead younger students.

Today, all that preparation paid off with an afternoon of hands-on math games, learning, and fun!

What a great example of Service Learning at Dock—building leadership, creativity, and communication skills while serving younger students in our school community. 💚👏

🌎 Proclaiming Jesus to the Ends of the Earth!

Today in Middle School Chapel, Dock students heard a powerful message from representatives from JAARS, Inc including Nard Pugyao, a retired pilot & missionary from the Philippines, who shared his incredible story of faith and the power of God’s Word.

With thousands of languages spoken around the world, many people are still waiting to have Scripture available in the language they know best. Nard shared that it took 66 years for the entire Bible to be translated into his own language!

He also spoke about his own journey of understanding the cross, God’s amazing grace, and the incredible hope we have through the power of the Resurrection.

Nard challenged our students with a question that applies to all of us: What are we going to give to Jesus today?

🙌 Our lives?
✈️ Our talents?
🎁 Our gifts?

What an important reminder that God can use whatever gifts He has given us to share His love with others—nearby and to the ends of the earth! 🌍

🥨 Pretzel Day has arrived! 🥨

A HUGE thank you to our Dock EC–8 families for helping us raise $1,200 through our Nepal Pretzel Fundraiser to support Mennonite Disaster Service! ❤️

Our Dock community continues to step up when others are in need—both locally and around the world. 🌎 And a special shoutout to our amazing parent volunteers who showed up today to pick up, pack, organize, and distribute hundreds of pretzel orders to our students. We couldn’t do it without you! 🥨💚

Thank you, Dock families, for once again showing our students what it looks like to serve others with generosity and love!

Yesterday was HOT at Dock! 🚒
In addition to participating in our all-school fire drill, our Preschool students received a special visit from Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company president, Mr. Dan Biros and got to see a big fire truck up close. Students learned important fire safety tips, what to do in a fire emergency, and how our local firefighters work to help keep our community safe. A BIG thank you to Mr. Biros for spending time with our youngest Pioneers and helping make fire safety fun and memorable! 🔥❤️

Dock’s 24th Annual Race for Education kicked off TODAY with an exciting All-School Chapel!! 🎉
