Sonora High Foundation

Sonora High Foundation The Sonora High Foundation was originally formed to aid in the replacement of the SHS dirt track.

We have come a long way in a short period of time and now use our resources for education mini-grants, athletics, scholarships, and the Hall of Fame Dinner. • We have raised over $400,000.00 over the past five years with the help of the Sonora Area Foundation and the support from all of the wonderful Sonora High Community.
• We organized and paid for the installation of the new lights on Dunlavy

Field.
• We have donated $50,000.00 to the Sonora Union High School District to be used in conjunction with the Measure J Bond to complete our original dream of replacing the outdated dirt track with an all-weather track that can be used year round by students and the community.
• We have expanded our scholarship program, which is aimed at helping promising, hard-working Sonora High students who need help in taking the next step to college or vocational school. We give three $750.00 scholarships each year.
• We have launched a mini-grant program under which teachers, coaches, student organizations, academic departments, booster clubs and other groups throughout the district can apply for up to $1,000.00 to realize their goals.
• We will continue to sponsor Sonora High School's Hall of Fame Awards Dinner, which recognizes outstanding Wildcat athletes and coaches from the school's past each November.

The Sonora High Foundation has teamed up with the Sonora Varsity Girls Golf Team and we are putting on a fundraiser at Teleli Golf Course. The tournament is Friday May 13th at 12PM. People with the 10-year-old nonprofit Sonora High School Foundation are planning to host their 2019 Hall of Fame Awards Dinner on Oct. 5 at the Black Oak Casino Hotel banquet room. Cost is $40 per person and $20 each for children age 12 and under. Organizers expect reservations by Sept.
