Yesterday was World Parkinson’s Day! Rock Steady Boxing Sonoma joined the PD Avengers in Spark the Night by becoming a “Sparklet” in Sonoma! April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Help us spread the word and share resources. One person, one conversation, one light at a time!

April is Parkinson”s Awareness Month. Today, April 11th, is World Parkinson’s Day. Do you know what Parkinson’s is?
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive movement disorder caused by the loss of nerve cells in the brain that produce dopamine. This loss of dopamine leads to a variety of symptoms, including tremors, rigidity, and slowness of movement, to name a few…

The goal of World Parkinson’s Day is to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. It serves as a global day to highlight the challenges of living with Parkinson’s, encourage research and treatment advancements, and mobilize collective action to improve the lives of those affected. We ask that you take a moment today to stop and be aware; look up something about Parkinson’s to educate yourself, reach out to a family member or friend who has Parkinson’s (PD) and check in.
