Meet Ayla!
TPS Class of 2026
❤️ Love:
“My favorite memory at The Presentation School was when I performed "She's Leaving Home" with the Sgt. Peppers at the 2025 Spring Concert! It was such a fun process hanging out with Mr. Zachary and these wonderful students, (some now alumni) and I just had such a fun time with that whole show even though I wasn't an MC. I love sharing music, playing music, and listening to music, so this was definitely a top-tier and top 3 experience in my life.”
📚 Learn:
“Putting myself out there and trying to get to know everyone better was hard, but insanely worth it. Since 7th grade, I've made more friends than I have ever, and they are all in different grades! Just a simple, "Hi!" changed my relationship with someone. This year, I've made so many friends in 6th grade and they've grown every day. Some are even my best friends now! I certainly do hope that I can continue putting myself out there, even in a place where I don't know anyone, like high school in New York and jazz school!”
🌱 Lead:
“A time I stepped up was when I was a student in 6th grade and our old music teacher told me that I should play the piano for one of our assemblies since she saw talent in me. I was super nervous, but I played in front of the whole school while students walked in with their banners and from then on, many students with musical talent, specifically in piano, have played for assemblies. 📚 Learn:
“I learned how to speak English fluently during my time at TPS. When I joined in 6th grade I only knew some sentences, but now I would say that I speak with much confidence! I am really proud of myself for overcoming the language barrier.”
🌱 Lead:
“One time I supported others was during a group project in 7th grade when I encouraged my group to keep going. They weren't totally dialed in at the time and I helped get us on track.”

❤️ Love:
“My favorite memory from TPS was our fifth grade trip to Westminster Woods in Occidental where our class really bonded. We spent time hiking, laughing, and getting to hang out. This really showed how important connection, and belonging are. It's a moment that will always stay with me because it shows how meaningful connection is to those around you..”
📚 Learn:
“Something that I struggled with was time management, especially balancing volleyball and other extracurriculars. It wasn't always easy to fit everything into my busy schedule. My motivation to succeed helped me stay organized and push through.”
🌱 Lead:
“A moment that showcased my leadership was during sixth grade when I decided to run for treasurer and put myself out there. Even though I didn't get the position, taking a risk helped me realize how much I cared about making a difference. Since then, being part of the student council has continued to push me and grow my confidence as a leader.”
