📣Free Wildfire Preparedness Assistance Available for Siskiyou County Residents📣

The Fire Safe Council of Siskiyou County (FSCSC), in partnership with CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), is working together through the Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) to help make our communities safer from wildfire.

Through this grant, eligible Siskiyou County residents can receive:

🔥 A free home wildfire risk assessment

🌲 Defensible space work around their home

🏡 Education on wildfire preparedness and mitigation strategies

This work is grant-funded, meaning there is no cost to eligible homeowners. The project aims to provide home assessments and defensible space improvements for approximately 500 homes throughout Siskiyou County.

Due to a local tragedy that affects our staff, students and community, we will be postponing the River Olympics. Tentative date is September 25th, 2026. Grief services are available to students and families through Junction Elementary via our counselors. Let’s support each other as a community through this difficult time. Thank you for understanding.

📣We are excited to announce that the River Olympics is back and will be hosted at our Junction Chúufish campus! 🦅

We are proud to welcome our neighboring river schools, Jack Norton Elementary and Weitchpec Yurok Magnet School, to join us in this monumental and fun-filled event. 💛

A special thank you to Xatímniim Drake for creating this year’s beautiful logo, which will be featured on Junction’s event t-shirts 💛💚 Yôotva!

This event is made possible through Community Schools funding, which has provided plaques, ribbons, t-shirts for our students, and other necessary equipment.

We’re also excited to share that we have confirmed three food vendors so far!

•Cathy Leavens, owner of Cal-Salmon Catering

•Salmon River Volunteer Fire & Rescue will be hosting a waffle breakfast fundraiser as well.

Additional food vendors are welcome and encouraged to join us. Please note that we are a nut-free school.
