ตแท) is a pungmul ensemble that explores traditional Korean percussion music and dance, with a focus on cultural heritage rooted in Yimsil Pilbong, located in Jeolla Province in Southwest Korea. The ensemble members include faculty and students from the Boston Academy of Korean Traditional Arts (BAKTA), where Mina Cho serves as the director and Jihye Park as the leader of the percussion ensemble. Todayโs performance will feature various acts from Yimsil Pilbong nongak (farmersโ music), showcasing samulnori instruments (Kkwaenggwari โ small gong; Janggu โ hourglass-shaped drum; Buk โ barrel drum; Jing โ large gong), along with a solo janggu performance in a standing position (seonban seoljanggu) by Jihye Park.
