BHS FACS students from various classes took part in a joint project with our child development center and preschool program!

Students read the book “Monster in Pajamas” and created stuffies out of templates the preschoolers decorated themselves!

Senior Eric Adams read the book to the preschoolers today before we delivered their monster stuffies! Students on both sides looked forward to this day since we first started!

We can’t wait to do this project again next year! Thank you Miss Weaver and Tech Part for working with us!

Grateful is my word for the day!

Grateful for such a wonderful day with the FCCLA members and advisors of Morgan County. ❤️

Our FCCLA members really had a great time at our Annual County Meeting! Our speaker, Laura Quick spoke about creating a life you actually want. Where you start doesn’t have to determine where you end up. Core values help shape your future, boundaries help protect your future and having a tribe makes all the difference! So many valuable lessons from the day.

We also had a blast playing bingo!

Thank you to Hollie Miller from Priceville High School for making today happen and everyone at RDP for hosting! Brooke Hudson you guys are the best! And…thank you to our bus driver, aids and Mrs. Colburn for all the help today!

It’s been a week since our BHS Patriot FCCLA returned from Montgomery!

We would like to congratulate these two students for winning Silver Medals in their STAR Events!

🥈10th grader Shylee Pillow won a Silver Medal for her National Programs in Action Project on Mental Health!

🥈 Senior AB Patino Won a Silver Medal for her Focus On Children Project that showcased a partnership with Child Development for a reading and sewing project with our pre schoolers!

Special thanks to Ms. Lindsey of MCS Tech Park for all of her help in guiding us in STAR Events this year!

Our other attendees contributed to STAR Events by volunteering to keep time, and usher competitors into their competition area.

We also toured the State Capitol and students got to taste the Alabama Famous Peach Park for the first time!

I am immensely proud of these students! We can’t wait until next year and more adventures!

Our FCCLA members have made it to Montgomery! We are touring now!

Shylee Pillow, a sophomore at Brewer High School saw a need and decided to fill that need with her FCCLA STAR Event called “You Matter”. Her concern was the mental health of the student body and she wanted to bring positivity to the school in different ways.

She put up a bulletin board in the concourse titled “Leave one Take one” where students could leave a positive message on a sticky note and take one as well! Mrs. Lindsey assisted by teaching a lesson on how to speak to yourself in a kind way and having healthy relationships. Mrs. King also helped by having her art class draw positive messages and beautiful pictures with chalk on our courtyard sidewalks!

Shylee will continue her project with different activities through May which is Mental Health Awareness month.

Brewer is blessed to have students who are working to make a difference for their peers and their campus!

Such a sweet day at BHS! A great Day to be a Patriot! Proud of all of our participants!
