Happy Mission Monday!

What is Mixed Delivery?

A mixed delivery system means granting funding to family child care Providers and Childcare Centers, and other programs and organizations to help allow for all children to receive high-quality early care and education.

For families, a mixed delivery system allows family choice among different program types that best meet their and their child’s needs.

What are wrap-around services?
In Somerville the Somerville Promise Alliance uses wrap-around services such as research and data to identify needs and trends affecting student success, funding, facilitation and outreach. To then be able to support community engagement, programs and resources to pilot new initiatives and continue developing existing programs. All in an effort to align and mobilize resources to help all students succeed.

Repost from
At SPYC we believe in play-based learning and during Somerville's Week of The Young Child it's a perfect time to celebrate with some play!

"One of the reasons we're so passionate about play is because with it, children develop not just their imagination and joy - but the crucial skill of LEARNING itself."

Somerville’s Week of the Young Child is a collaboration of the Somerville Public Schools (SPS), SomerPromise, the Somerville Family Learning Collaborative (SFLC), and Somerville Partnership for Young Children.

To preview the story and access it online, please go to https://somerville.k12.ma.us/district-departments/somerville-family-learning-collaborative-sflc/week-young-child.

Starting April 4th, there will also be video links to hear this story, “Hello from the Mayor” in 4 languages and a performance by Maura Mendoza of the song “Hello to the Mayor.”
