American Vietnam veterans are credited for putting PTSD on the map; but September 11th put it in our face and forced us to stare at it. Today marks 20 years since those tragic events unfolded. However, it has also been 20 years of learning and acceptance. Trauma and PTSD are no longer terms relegated to mental health professionals, but are well-studied with advancements in treatments and available resources. May we continue to be resilient both individually and as a country.
