Kindergarten and first-grade students in Mrs. Lowe’s visual arts class enjoyed working together on a collaborative art piece by creating a beautiful tree mosaic with construction paper. They are wonderful artists and team players!

To Parent and Guardians,

We are starting the annual Spirit Card sales! Each Spirit Card cost $15. If you would like your child to participate in selling spirit cards, please fill the form that is being sent home today. It is mandatory before your student receives any cards to sell.

Ms. Dunbar’s class listened to the story Alma and the Worry Stone and got to make their very own worry stones!

Students in Ms. Evans’ first-grade class read Alma and the Worry Stone, a story all about overcoming back-to-school worries. Then, they made their very own worry stones. What a fun activity!

Students in Mrs. Atwell’s 3rd grade class are shaking their “jitters” and making their class a “family” on the first day of school.

Parent drop off and pick up instructions:

The single auto lane will go from one to two lanes as you pass our bus loading area. As you approach the front of BES, you will notice cones in the outside lane. The cones going forward will condense the traffic back down to one lane. Designated cones on the sidewalks have numbers. Pull to a cone to unload and load your child. You will be directed by staff.

Good afternoon, parents and guardians.

This is a friendly reminder that only the guardians of kindergarten students will be permitted to walk their child to class on the first day of school at Burnside Elementary. Please park in a designated area and hold your child's hand as you utilize the crosswalk. There will be sign-in and sign-out tables located in the foyer. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us! We are looking forward to seeing you!

Burnside Elementary is pleased to welcome Marsha Ball!

Hello! My name is Marsha Ball. My husband and I just moved to Somerset and we have 4 children, 3 beautiful daughters and 1 incredible son, 2 son-in-laws, and 1 amazing grandson. I have taught special education for 13 years and 2 years regular education. I have taught grades 2-5. I have taught second grade for the past 4 years and love teaching second graders! I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Cameron University Lawton, Oklahoma with an endorsement in special education. Campbellsville University with my Masters in Administration. I have always felt that individualized learning is crucial to student success and enjoy helping students reach their full potential through their individual goals. When I am not at school, I enjoy going out to our land in Eastern Pulaski County, hiking, hunting, foraging, riding ATVs, cooking, gardening, reading, and anything that involves spending time with my family. I'm excited for my first year as a Burnside General!
