Hosts Ethan Nepomuceno ’26 and Kaya Roy ’26 break down another outstanding week for Rutgers Prep athletics in episode seven of Golden Fleece Gameday. Let’s get into it!

⚽ Girls Soccer
stays perfect at 14-0 after wins over Bernards (2–0), Bridgewater-Raritan (3–1), and Newark Academy (3–1). Those three Ws extend the team’s win streak to 41 games! 👏🔥

🏐 Volleyball
swept Immaculata (3–0) in the first round of the Somerset County Tournament to keep their sweep streak going.

Standouts: Peilin Xu ’27 with 11 service points, Aubrey Franz ’27 with 15 kills, and Rebecca Panacek ’29 with 26 assists. 🙌

🎾 Girls Tennis
History was made! 🏆 captured the program’s first-ever Sectional Championship with a 4–1 win over Red Bank Catholic. Way to go, girls! 🎉

🏃 Cross Countryxc had a strong showing at the Skyland Conference Championship: Girls JV won the JV Valley Division, and Boys Freshmen took first in their division! 🥇

🏈 Senior-Faculty Football Game
The seniors defeated the faculty 7–0, just the second win for the student team in the game’s long history.
The game-winning pick-six came from Ryan Lachs ’26, this week’s Golden Fleece Spotlight Athlete.🏅

💬 Ryan on the big moment:
“When that ball went up, I was like, ‘Don’t drop it.’ After that, I had Coach Klipstein right behind me, so I needed to run.” We’d be running, too, Ryan!

⚽️ had a massive week — 5️⃣–1️⃣ over Bayonne, 2️⃣–1️⃣ double OT thriller vs. Immaculata, and a 3️⃣–0️⃣ shutout over Strongsville (OH) on Welcome Weekend! 🙌

💥 Shoutout to Alexa Lee for her nearly midfield free-kick game-winner and for hitting 💯 career points! 🎯👏

🏐 is on a TEAR — three straight sweeps (Montgomery, Voorhees, St. Elizabeth) for a 6️⃣-game win streak without dropping a single set since Sept 22 😤🔥

🎾 has a dominant week including the school’s FIRST EVER Sectional Championship — Lyra Patel remains undefeated in team play! 👑

🔥 Episode 5 of Golden Fleece Game Day is LIVE — and the Argonauts are on a tear!

⚽️ The Nations #1 keeps rolling with back-to-back wins — 3️⃣–1️⃣ over Bridgewater and 3️⃣–0️⃣ over Owen J. Roberts on Senior Day! Brooke Bredeson & Savannah De Barros both scored in both games 💪

⚽️ pulled off an OT THRILLER vs. Immaculata! Paul Okereke & Jais Roy scored in regulation before Arun Gokhale buried the golden goal 🥇🔥

🏐 swept Gil St. Bernard’s 2–0 — Laila Domanski led with 12 digs and Anushka Gabala served up 10 points + 4 aces 💥

🎾 dominated states — sweeping Immaculata, Voorhees, and Gil St. Bernard’s! Big shoutout to Lyra Patel, who remains UNDEFEATED through her first 10 matches 👑

🏃‍♀️ .xc showed out at the Short Coaches Invitational — Layla Rasool 🥇 won her division & Ibrahim Rasool medaled as well!
