The Learning Child Home Care in Somerset Massachusetts, has an opening as of September 18, 2023. The current days available are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with the possibility of adding days in the future. The Learning Child Home Care, Inc will be opening September 9th. As excited as we are, we have lost some beloved families due to the current situation. I’m happy to say our extended daycare family is all healthy, but COVID put a big burnden on many of them. We will be giving our currently enrolled families time to adjust and then will have an open enrollment as we currently have 26 days open! Everytime there is a conversation about child care the overwhelming response is that parents are concerned for the restrictions for their children when they return. Whatever your feelings on what the guidelines should be, you should be communicating them to Early Education and care. If you are concerned about your child's health, safety, socialization or development your voices should be being heard. Regardless of where you fall on masks and social Distancing they need to hear from you. I very much encourage you to email your local EEC office with your questions and concerns

As it stands right now the numbers in child care programs are going to be reduced and maybe enough to close a lot of programs forever. Right now there is no financial assistance coming to bail these programs out and they may be lost forever. We do not have the answers, no one does but they either need to open these sustainably or keep them closed and offer assistance until it's safe. When this is over we are going to need these programs. If this issue concerns you please reach out to EEC and local legislators and let them know
