Busy working families need childcare for their children but also desire a high-quality early childhood education program. Lightbridge Academy offers infant, toddler, preschool and back-up care programs. We want every child to feel safe, nurtured, and excited to learn and grow with us, and every family to consider us a true partner in the development and education of their child. Little minds have big feelings. 💛 Through our Social and Emotional curriculum, we help teach mindfulness in many different ways:

1. Yoga and movement classes to learn relaxation techniques
2. Calming corners to manage big feelings
3. Emotions charts so students can point to how they’re feeling today
4. Music and games to keep kids engaged

How do you manage big feelings at home?

Our infant room explored emotions and the colors that can go with them alongside Ms. Shelsy and Ms. Ivonne! 🎨💛 Singing Sprouts made learning extra fun. What songs bring a smile to your little one? 🎶

Stop, drop and roll…It’s Fire Safety Week! 🔥

A big part of our Lightbridge Academy curriculum is ensuring students learn the basics of safety practices. Throughout each center’s week of activities, students are able to get hands-on experience fighting “fires”, touring fire trucks, crawling under “smoke”, and learning to call 9-1-1.

🏠 Parent Homework: keep the learning going at home! While fire safety is still fresh in their minds, take time as a family to create or review your home fire safety plan. Identify your exits, choose a meeting spot and practice what everyone should do in case of an emergency.

Big feelings are part of growing! This week, our Sprouts are exploring emotions through yoga, puppet-making and a puppet show, plus fun activities with shapes and colors. These experiences help children practice recognizing feelings and finding positive ways to manage them. 💛

Learning about fire safety can be engaging and hands-on! 🚒 Our little learners used their imaginations as firefighters, mixed colors to create their own paper flames, and practiced a fire drill. These activities help children understand why safe drills matter. What’s one way you talk about safety with your family?

Behind every meaningful learning experience is a team that’s always learning, too.

Each year, every one of our centers hosts a Professional Development Day, giving our teachers and staff time to come together, prepare for the days ahead and make sure we’re all aligned on what’s next. From discussing upcoming initiatives to planning lessons, activities and meaningful learning experiences, every detail is thoughtfully considered with our young learners in mind.

Because creating an exceptional early learning experience takes a team working together behind the scenes to make this the best year yet! 📚

This month’s staff meeting was all about connection, reflection and teamwork! We welcomed new team members and revisited our CHILDREN core values, asking how we can best serve our children, families, staff, owners and community.

A big congratulations to our young infant team Ms. Ivonne & Ms. Shelsy for earning the most votes for their creative board, and to our core values winners, Ms. Krista and Ms. Jaylynn! 🎉
