A Personal Thank You✉️

"Our hearts are heavy as we stand with our Somerset FFA families who recently suffered the devastating loss of their show animals. While nothing can erase the disappointment and heartache our students and families are experiencing, we have been deeply moved by the overwhelming response from Somerset and our neighboring communities. The generosity, compassion, and willingness of so many people to step forward in support of our students is a powerful reminder of what makes Somerset such a special place.

Over the past several days, we have witnessed neighbors helping neighbors, local organizations offering assistance, businesses and agricultural partners donating resources, and countless individuals reaching out with words of encouragement and acts of kindness. This extraordinary outpouring of support has been inspiring and a testament to our community's strength, compassion, and heart.
On behalf of the Somerset ISD Board of Trustees and myself, I want to express our sincere gratitude to every individual who has extended a helping hand. Through this difficult experience, our students have demonstrated resilience and our community has once again proven that when one Bulldog family hurts, we all come together.

We remain committed to standing alongside our FFA students and families as they recover, rebuild, and continue pursuing the dreams and opportunities they have worked so hard to achieve."

Whether you’re ready to roar, sing, dance or bring an unforgettable character to life, this is your chance to become part of the pride! We can’t wait to see you at auditions!

Note* Auditions at the Black Box Theater are open to 5th through 12th grade students. Elementary level student-parents should contact their student's campus music teacher for on campus audtions.

🎤🏆 Congratulations to Somerset Junior High Mariachi student Kenya Garza on earning first place in the Voz de la Paloma vocal competition!

Kenya’s outstanding performance earned her the top honor and a $300 prize. We are incredibly proud of her talent, dedication and courage to take the stage and represent Somerset Junior High!

Congratulations, Kenya—your voice continues to make Somerset ISD shine!

Big things are happening for our Bulldogs! 🐾💙

Our Somerset High School students wrapped up the Alamo Academies Summer Internship Program:

⭐ Jonilla Arias was one of just two students selected for the inaugural Sky Safety Flight Academy internship.

⭐ Tristan Lambaria earned one of just six spots at Toyota.

We’re so proud of these students for representing Somerset ISD and gaining real-world experience that will help shape their futures!

Thank you, Alamo Academies Inc, for helping our Bulldogs go from the classroom to the workforce! 👏

💙✨ Calling all future Silver Dancers!

Join the Somerset Silver Dancers for their Junior Clinic Fundraiser! Participants will learn alongside the Silver Dancers and show off what they’ve learned for their families at the end of the clinic.

📅 Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026
📍 Somerset Junior High Gym
🕣 Registration/Check-in: 8:30–9 a.m.
💃 Clinic: 9–11 a.m.
💵 Registration Fee: $40, cash only

Registration forms and payment must be submitted to the Somerset High School front office by Friday, Aug. 21, attention Jonelle Drake. The clinic fee is nonrefundable.
