On August 1st, Ohana celebrated six years in business! Day to day operations can seem long but time really is moving fast!
When I purchased this company during COVID shutdown with only 3 participants enrolled at the time, I didn't know how I was going to do it but I just knew I wanted to make this happen. The early years had many long nights...the plan remained the same. Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the most vulnerable while enriching their lives so much they forget/don't realize they are vulnerable to anything! Some of the stories from the past 6 years have not been successful. Those are hard to swallow. Some of the stories have been unchangeable due to things out of my control. Those I've learned to live with no matter how unfair. Some of the stories have turned out down right amazing 😍 and that's my why and how I keep pushing even when I feel like I'm exhausted and cannot go on.
In the end, all I can do is only what the power of the all mighty great Lord above allows me to do and for that I praise him and his mercy on me!
So as I embark on year 7, I want to thank my family who have sacrificed for my dream...they spent a lot of time with me working houses in the early years and on the phone dealing with behaviors and staffing during times I should be with them. I also want to thank my staff no matter how long or short of time they were with me because they are my backbone too. I can't do it without them. Even the bad eggs (and there's been some...) made some sort of impact on me.
So Happy Anniversary to Ohana--To my dream, to my passion, And to my continued hope of being able to affect lives positively that may otherwise not be even safe.
God bless all of you!
