It was a beautiful day at the Good Old Days fesival at John F. Kennedy Park last Saturday, September 12, 2026. Somers Point's very own stalwart Green Team answered a thousand questions from curious festival goers about how to introduce native plants into their landscaping to benefit birds, bees and butterflies. Actual live, beneficially beautiful, native plants were on display. Lots of really useful information was dispensed! Thanks again to the fine citizens of southern New Jersey for their interest!

Did you know that many restaurants automatically hand out plastic utensils, napkins, straws, and condiment packets that often go unused? By simply saying "No thanks" when you don't need them, you can help reduce waste, save resources, and keep unnecessary trash out of our landfills and waterways.

Small choices add up to a big difference. Next time you order takeout or delivery, remember: Skip the Stuff! ♻️

This past Saturday, April 11th, Somers Point truly showed its pride during our City-Wide Clean Up Day! Streets, parks, and natural areas got some much-needed TLC—and the difference was clear everywhere you looked.

A special thank you to the Somers Point Green Team for their incredible effort and dedication. Their hard work, organization, and passion for keeping our community clean and green made the entire day a success. 💚

It’s inspiring to see what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

👏 Great job, everyone—and especially our Green Team!
