Orchard Middle School students are having a fantastic time exploring new reads at the Scholastic Book Fair, which takes place through August 27!

Popular picks include the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, The Liars Society by Alyson Ge**er, and the ever-favorite Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey.

It’s an entire night of marching bands! Get ready for Halftime Rewind: Back to the 1990s, the 19th annual Solon Band Bash on August 29 in the Solon High School stadium. Gates will open at 6:15 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.

Band Bash is a great night of music, energy and community spirit. The Solon Comets Marching Band will host nine other bands from Madison, North Olmsted, Orange, Wickliffe, James A. Garfield, West Geauga, Beachwood, Aurora and Hudson, all performing their 2026 half-time shows for the upcoming fall football season.

Tickets are available through Solon Music Parents online on the SMP website at https://trst.in/r6lAQ2. Tickets are $8 presale and $10 beginning at 9 p.m. on August 27. Concessions will be available.

Our preschoolers are having a blast on their first day of school! They’re exploring all the fun new toys, making friends on the playground and especially loving the gym, with its vehicles, slides and many ways to move.

What an incredible night of Comets CommUNITY! Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the perfect evening for the Community & Kindness Tailgate before the first Friday Night Lights of 2026! It was the perfect way to wrap up a GREAT first week of school!

Thank you to the Solon Council of PTAs for planning this awesome event! And thank you to all of our parent and community groups who squeezed in one more thing during back-to-school season to make this such a terrific family event!

Friday Night Lights are back at Stewart Field!

It was fantastic to see our community come together for the first home football game of the season and the Kindness & Community Tailgate.

Join us for the Solon Schools Kindness & Community Tailgate TODAY from 5-7 p.m. at Stewart Field on the home team side!

Before the first home football game of the 2026 season, Solon families and community members are invited to connect, celebrate and enjoy an evening of food, activities and Comet spirit. Each of our school PTAs will be hosting activities for students and families of all ages.

Stop by to visit with Officer William DiGiovanni, known to students as Officer Billy D., Lt. Bill Vajdich and Henry the Service Dog from the Solon Police Department. The evening will also feature school mascots, the Solon Saturns cheerleaders, O.P.E.N. the Solon Athletic Boosters Spirit Store and Solon Music Parents.

Food trucks will include Big House BBQ, Cleveland Cookie Dough, Pop Culture CLE, Smooth Rider and Thai It Up.

Then stay to cheer on the Comets at the first home football game of the season! We hope to see our Solon Schools community there as we connect, celebrate and belong.

Big milestone: It’s the first day of kindergarten!

Let’s give the Class of 2039 a warm welcome to Solon Schools. Our young learners are getting to know their new schools and making new friends. They also spent the morning practicing important classroom routines, such as gathering on the carpet for storytime, lining up in the hallway and remembering to gently push in their chairs.

We’re so proud of our kindergartners as they begin this exciting new chapter and grateful to our kindergarten teams for helping each child feel welcome, comfortable and ready to learn.
