On October 7, Kate finished up her Pathway by reflecting on her multi-year development journey professionally and through Toastmasters, and Rick shared humorous and touching stories about his Dobermans! Zhi led a Table Topics session in which speakers were challenged to reflect on the theme of peaceful communication. We also welcomed first-time guest Steve!

On Sept. 30, Jason gave a speech about how the traditional world map (Mercator), is not what it seems, and how the new UN-approved Equal Earth Map gives a fairer representation of countries (visit https://thetruesize.com/ to learn the true relative size of each country)! We also held a Table Topics session in which our returning-member Rick practiced a genuine toast, and other speakers were challenged to relate their experiences to Confucius quotes. We also welcomed first-time guest Ryan!

At our September 23 meeting, we celebrated the first day of Fall. Table Topics featured - you guessed it - a debate about the merits of pumpkin spice and when to start drinking it.
Z relayed a beautiful speech about mentoring, and how she has helped three of our club members with an important, informal mentoring role.
Kate shared an excellent speech about her experience as a VP Membership, focusing on the connections, relationships, and community she experienced and cultivated.

At our Sept. 16 meeting, Tina shared speech about three real-life haunted house stories! In recognition of national Play Doh Day, Alex led a Table Topics session asking speakers to describe their past Play-Doh (or other creative) experiences. We also welcomed guest Aaron!

On National Teddy Bear day, Kate led a Table Topics session asking speakers to reflect on how animals (real or stuffed) have impacted their lives! Joe also provided a valuable speech to show club members how they can prepare a speech with little advance notice.

Congratulations on a job well done from all our Speech Contestants! Wednesday, we held our semi-annual speech contest, in which various members competed for the best Humorous Speech and Table Topic!

On August 12, National Book Lover's Day, Amy gave a speech sharing insight into personality and communication styles, and demonstrated her own style of ‘elemental fusion!' Andrew challenged Table Topics speakers with some thoughtful book-inspired topics. We also recognized our club’s newest members, Abbie, Frank, and Qingguo!
