Congratulations on a job well done from all our Speech Contestants! Wednesday, we held our semi-annual speech contest, in which various members competed for the best Humorous Speech and Table Topic!

Humorous Speech Contest:

Table Topics Contest:
1st Place: Andrew Patterson
2nd Place: Amy Vogt
3rd Place: Alex Fan

First place winners will be eligible to compete at the Area 30 Contest, Saturday September 19th, 10am @ Warrensville Heights Library. Save the date and plan to cheer on your fellow club members!

On August 12, National Book Lover's Day, Amy gave a speech sharing insight into personality and communication styles, and demonstrated her own style of ‘elemental fusion!' Andrew challenged Table Topics speakers with some thoughtful book-inspired topics. We also recognized our club’s newest members, Abbie, Frank, and Qingguo!

Wednesday’s meeting was filled with impromptu speeches – Joe gave an Icebreaker speech for his new Dynamic Leadership Pathway, and turned it into an impromptu session, talking about goldfish, lawyers, and his time living in Japan! In celebration of International Cat Day, Amy challenged speakers with all cat-themed Table Topics. We also welcomed new guests Frank and James!

We had an excellent meeting on Wednesday, where Tricia gave us an orientation of the Pathways program, and shared insightful advice to the audience. Jason led Table Topics and challenged speakers with an elevator simulation—to speak impromptu on a topic and hit the 1-minute mark as closely as possible!

What a great meeting on July 22! Our theme was "Hot enough for ya?" But as it turns out, the weather was unusually cool for summer. Anyway, we welcomed many fantastic guests, including our Area Director, Bill. Congratulations to our pencil winners: Tina - Best Speech. Jason - Best Evaluator. Amy and Arnav - Best Table Topics.
And a special welcome to our newest member, Andrew!!!
