Last evening on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Soledad NJROTC hosted its annual staff Christmas Dinner at the Windmill Restaurant. Cadets had a blast with our traditional White Elephant gift exchange and an amazing dinner. We’d like to give one last hooyah to our graduating seniors in staff and all the heartfelt speeches, as well as the incredible effort they’ve put into the unit these last 4 years; they are all appreciated and you will be missed! Thank you to everyone for making this staff outing possible!!! 🍽️🎄🎁

Attention cadets!!! Our NS2+ Potluck has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at California Gourmet Pizza from 4:30 to 8 PM. This event is for upperclassman cadets (all NS2’s, NS3’s & NS4’s), STUDENTS ONLY! Please bring a dish to share with 10+ people. We look forward to seeing you all there! 🍽️🎄🎅

UC Berkeley NROTC Visit 🐻⚓️

9 of our cadets visited the UC Berkeley campus on November 14, 2024. They met with the UC Berkeley Naval ROTC and took a tour of the campus and learned about the NROTC unit. Cadets got to visit iconic landmarks around the college, such as Sather Gate and the second tallest clock tower in the world, the Campanile. They had a fun time at Berkeley and learned a lot about the college, along with its history!

On November 7, 2024, the Soledad Aztec Battalion hosted its Area Manager’s Inspection (AMI). Our inspection, Pass in Review, and command brief was a huge success thanks to you all! Congratulations to one of our first year cadets, Miguel Gonzalez, who received a perfect score on the personnel inspection and was meritoriously promoted. Thank you to Area Manager Mr. Ken Ballard, our superintendent, school principal, mayor, school administrators and family for supporting our students!!!

Last night on November 12, 2024, the Soledad NJROTC program was recognized by the San Jose Scottish Rite. They recognized the best college ROTC and the best high school JROTC in the Bay Area. We presented the colors for the ceremony and the organization congratulated our success as a unit, including a $250 donation to our program. A huge thank you to the San Jose Scottish Rite, we appreciate your support!

Marine Corps Birthday Ball 🦅🌎⚓️

Today on November 10, 2024, our cadets presented the colors for the 249th Marine Corps Birthday Ball! They had a blast dining and spending time with former and active duty Marines. Oorah and Semper Fi, happy birthday devil dogs!!!

Cadets, join us at the 14th annual Monterey County Veterans Day Parade in Salinas, CA this Monday, November 11, 2024!!! We advise you to bring at least $25 for food and wear your KHAKI UNIFORM. It’s not too late to sign up and show out at the parade, please see PAO for a permission slip. We will be meeting at the Soledad High School parking lot at 1100. See you there!

Cal Martime Academy Visit ⛴️🌊⚓️

Our cadets had the chance to visit California State University Maritime Academy in Vallejo, CA on November 5, 2024. Cadets had a presentation on how to become a merchant marine, the majors they have to offer and also toured the T.S. Golden Bear; CSUMA is the only maritime academy on the west coast of the United States. Our cadets had a great time touring the campus and learning all about the academy!!!

Today, on November 6, 2024, our freshman color guard performed a presentation of colors a at local Fairview Middle School in Gonzales for their annual Veterans Assembly to honor all those who have served. 🇺🇸🫡

San Francisco Fleet Week 2024 🌉🛳️🌊

On Wednesday, October 9th, 24 of our cadets set out to San Francisco for Fleet Week! ⚓️ While there, they had the honor of meeting the Honorable, Carlos Del Toro . Our cadets had plenty of fun touring various naval vessels and exploring the pier!!! 🛳️🌊Thank to everyone who made this trip possible 👏💪
