Adult field trip opportunity! Please join Kenai Peninsula College, Kenai Watershed Forum, and for "Backyard Salmonscapes." Join us for a short walk from KPC to Slikok Creek for an up-close look at baby salmon! Participants will have the chance to explore salmon conservation, see young salmon in minnow traps, and learn about a local research project mapping previously undocumented salmon habitat on the Kenai Peninsula directly from the scientists conducting the research. All participants will be required to sign a safety waiver before participation and will also receive a $25 gift card (MUST pre-register by 9/30 at the link below to receive the gift card; all participants must be 18+ years of age). Space is limited.

Kenai Peninsula College is leading the way in workforce development for Alaska. Alaska is a marine community, and we have a program that supports that. Students can come to KPC and get certified in our Outboard Maintenance Program in conjunction with Yamaha.

The one-semester Occupational Endorsement Certificate in Marine Outboard Technician can be earned at the Kenai River Campus (Soldotna). It requires 13 credits and includes up to four Yamaha Marine Certification Program (MCP 1-4) certificates. Classes include:

Intro to Outboard Systems (1 credit)
Outboard Engines-Portable (3 credits)
Outboard Engines-Mid-Range (3 credits)
Outboard Engines-Inline (3 credits)
Outboard Engines-V6 (3 credits)

Kenai Peninsula College is excited to host the Arctic Indigenous Film Festival! Join us for a special screening of Shaaghan Neekwaii (Two Old Women) and several additional Arctic Indigenous-produced film shorts, followed by a Q&A with Emmy-nominated Princess Daazhraii Johnson and Brittany Woods-Orrison.
