☀️ Summer Scheduling Is Now Open! ☀️

Our Summer Session runs from June 2nd through July 30th!

Each student has been assigned the number of lesson packages they requested for the summer and is now ready to enroll.

Summer is here, and the weather is finally starting to feel like it! We can't wait to see everyone in the studio this season. 🌞🎶

On Saturday, May 9th, our studio held its annual Spring Studio Recital! 🎹

Due to the size of the studio this year, we experimented with splitting the recital into two groups, and it went splendidly. It created a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone, so we will definitely be continuing that format in the future as long our studio maintains this size.

This was honestly one of the strongest years our studio has had, despite having fewer lessons in the school calendar this year. Our studio currently has a very large group of late elementary levels students, along with many middle school, and early high school students, and the amount of growth and musical maturity this year was incredible to witness.

We had 46 students perform, plus a few sibling photo crashers in the group picture 😂 I am so proud of every student for their hard work throughout recital season, Federation events, and lessons this year. There was a tremendous amount of progress made across the studio.

Thank you to all of the families for your support this year. Have a wonderful and restful break, everyone. I look forward to seeing many of you this summer and again next fall. Keep up the great work! 🎶

These are our 2026 AKFMC Gold Cup winners — minus one student who wasn’t able to attend the recital. She earned two 15-point cups this year in Piano Solo and Theory! 8 cups were awarded this year.

Some students earned 15-point cups while others reached 30-point cups through their participation in the Alaska Federation of Music Clubs festivals. We even had students earn awards in both Piano Solo and Theory this year!

I’m incredibly proud of all of these students and the hard work, consistency, and dedication they showed throughout the year. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement! 🎹🏆

𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝. These registration periods were available for current students in the studio.

Thank you to all of my studio families for communicating your fall and summer plans, reviewing the updated tuition, and working through the summer policy with me. I truly appreciate your commitment—it’s what keeps the studio strong.

As we head into next fall, I will be 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 to maintain a healthy balance and continue offering high-quality lessons.

If you’re interested in joining the studio, please reach out in 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 when I begin piecing together the schedule to see if I have room. If the studio is full at that time, I’m always happy to recommend other local teachers.

Fall Registration is coming along! 🎹 It’s been great to see who’s renewing for next year.

We will have a few students not continuing—some due to high school schedules, some exploring new instruments, and of course my three graduating seniors. Because of this, the studio roster will reduce a tad bit unless if I replace slots.

Reminder: Fall Registration closes next Sunday evening! I’ll be sending one final reminder. This registration is only for current students.

Recitals are coming soon! 🎹

For the first time this year, we’re splitting the recital into two groups. Please check your email to see which recital your child is assigned to.

Group A: 12:30–1:30 PM
Group B: 2:00-3:00 PM

This recital marks the end of our school year, and it’s going to be a great one—featuring a mix of jazz, blues, classical favorites, movie themes, duets, technical showpieces, and lyrical works, including music by many wonderful pedagogical composers.

We have just one more week left—hard to believe how fast this 16-week semester has gone!

After the recital, the studio will be closed for three weeks and will reopen on June 1 for an 8-week summer session. This should give our brain a chance to recover. Self booking summer lessons will open end of May, when I send an email.

🎹 Fall Registration Has Been Sent Out

Fall registration for 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 (𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥–𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠) has officially been sent out via email.

This is a 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 to be included on my fall roster for next year. This step is for current studio family members only.

This process helps me plan lesson times, student placement, and overall studio structure for the upcoming year. The studio will be reducing it's roster a tad bit next fall due to some seniors graduating and some schedule changes I plan to make.

Summer lessons will take place in 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲. Please make sure to read the email carefully for details on scheduling and the summer policy. I will be offering an 8 week summer session this year instead of 9 weeks like last year.
