Casa De Amistad

Casa De Amistad Students participating in Casa de Amistad are from school districts throughout North County San Diego. Over 115 individuals volunteer weekly as tutors/mentors.

Casa is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the education and character development of underserved children and their families in coastal North County San Diego. Since we began in 1997, Casa de Amistad's academic mentoring program has grown from serving just 3 children on its first night to over 175 children and their parents annually. Currently, 175 students come from Solana Beach Sch

ool District, Del Mar Union School District, Encinitas Union School District, Cardiff School District, Carlsbad Unified School District and San Dieguito Union High School District. In the past 15 years, teachers in our area schools have noticed an increase in homework completion and classroom participation, as well as improved grades and higher test scores among Casa's students. Many of Casa de Amistad 12th grade students have applied to and have been accepted at a number of California’s top universities. Since Casa began, the number of participating students going on to college continues to rise.

Our students explored the world of coding and robotics, built their own robots, and worked together to tackle exciting challenges. They also made time to get outside, enjoy the sunshine, and play soccer with GoalsBeyondBorders

On May 14th, we celebrated the recipients of the 2026 Future Leaders Scholarship. 🎓

Surrounded by family and friends, we gathered to recognize and honor 15 graduating seniors and 18 alumni for their outstanding educational achievements, hard work, and dedication to their future goals. It was a wonderful evening filled with pride, inspiration, and celebration of their accomplishments! 💫

Elementary Casa students were delighted to read to the friendly therapy dogs from Canine Companions this week. The high school students, in the midst of preparing for their final exams, also loved relaxing with the dogs. We look forward to welcoming these sweet dogs back soon!
