Join the MinerCTF-Mining for Flags-Sponsored by the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NMCCoE)

For 49ers this year, in addition to the on-campus events, we have an online capture the flag cybersecurity competition (with great cybersecurity gadgets for the top performers). In addition to prizes for the top three competitors, the group that performs best (students vs alumni) will have bragging rights as the better hackers. The scores for the two teams will be based on the average performance of active participants. The competition will be open online Thursday through Saturday Midnight with winners announced at the brunch behind the President's house Sunday.

Will the Young Guns or the Graduated Gladiators prevail? The teams may vote in the discord to change their names...

Everyone,
It has been a pleasure supporting our graduate students for the last seven years. I just accepted the position of Interim Director of two Cybersecurity Centers at NMT - one for education and one for economic development. My last day as Dean of Graduate Studies was July 5th. Please join me in welcoming the new Acting Dean of Graduate Studies - Dr. Aly El-Osery. I hope everyone will help Dr. El-Osery in his new role. I look forward to collaborating more broadly on transdisciplinary cybersecurity efforts for the state.

NM Tech was named to the The 20 Public Colleges with the Smartest Students in an Inc. Magazine article . Tech's students are ranked 18th among all public colleges nationally.

NMT's graduate school now has all programs listed in the Western Regional Graduate Programs at WICHE - that means everyone who applies can request resident tuition if they are a documented resident of the western states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawai'i, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, U.S. Pacific Territories and Freely Associated States, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming). This makes all of our excellent programs even more affordable.

Given our high Masters ranking, it is perhaps surprising how affordable we are with full time, resident, graduate tuition and fees below $7500 for the academic year, while the national average is $24,812. Even for non-residents we are lower than average at $22,220. Note: students with assistantships are granted resident tuition.
