In the fall we had a soft start back to school after the birth of sweet Sarah in August! We rarely start school years in the fall, but it worked out this year to at least try it while reminding myself to allow for plenty of grace with a newborn in the house! 😊. We are back at it today after Christmas break though with a bit more gusto! My high school kids are doing half of their work online through Power Homeschool and are also using Fix-It Grammar, Essentials in Writing, Teaching Textbooks (algebra) and Beautiful Feet Books for History. My 6&7 year olds are doing Master Books predominantly and I intend on eventually using it exclusively once we complete some other things that we are in the middle of. Why didn’t I always have this curriculum?? I am sooo happy with it! It’s been the perfect balance between Charlotte Mason style and workbooks that include great stories and copy work. Yesterday Abigail wanted me to watch a video clip on a weather related website. She said, "You'll like it but the words go fast, so I hope you can read it quick enough." What!?! Could this be my child saying this who couldn't read until around age 10? Abigail wins!!!! I cannot speak highly enough of her reading specialist, Ruth Bevan at http://www.educationalsolutions4u.com/
She sure helped us get through something that was such a struggle. Three years ago TODAY, we were referred to Ruth by the folks at lexercise.com and financially someone special invested in this opportunity so that Abigail could do something as wonderful as reading the Bible to herself every evening and reading fast moving text in a video. I praise God for all of it!!

Lexercise offers professional language therapy for children who suffer from dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other reading and writing problems.
