STEM students finished out the year with a bottle rocket challenge. This hands on activity allowed students the opportunity to investigate movement, motion, forces, physics, flight, space science, probability and statistics.

Mr. Chavez and Miss Sanchez's Science classes concluded the year with a lab in which they learned about the anatomy of a frog through dissecting. This opportunity allowed students to gain hands on experience and an overview of organ systems of a complex living thing.

The SJHS National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony took place Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2:00PM in the SJHS Cafetorium. The organization Co-Advisors Mr. Chavez and Miss Sanchez are enthusiastic to bring back this great program starting with such a phenomenal group of 40 6th and 7th graders. Congratulations students!

If your child is participating in the following during the 2023-2024 school year keep reading for important information!

🚨Junior High Athletics
🚨Junior High or High School Special Olympics
🚨High School Athletics
🚨High School Athletic Training
🚨High School Band
🚨High School Cheer

If you haven't already, now would be a good time to call and get on the schedule for a FREE physical through Cogdell. Call 325-573-1300 to get on the schedule.

Download and complete the UIL Pre-participation Physical Forms prior to your appointment. We also have copies available in the athletic office.

The following students need physicals:
• Students who are brand new to athletics, band, cheer, or special olympics
• Student-athletes, band, cheer, or special olympians who are incoming 7th, 9th, or 11th graders
• Athletes, band, cheerleaders, or special olympians with a pre-existing medical condition
• Athletes, band, cheerleaders, or special olympians who have had an athletic injury since their last physical that required a doctor's release
• Student trainers are also required to obtain one physical while in high school

If you have one from your previous school that is only one year old, please email a copy to our trainer Alex Marsh ([email protected]).
