On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Mrs. Edwards (Career Development Coordinator) and Mr. Waters (Lenoir Community College Career Coach) had the Be Pro, Be Proud bus for the 9th and 10th graders at Greene Central. The students were able to explore CTE based careers like welding, truck driving, crane work, lineman, and others through virtual reality. This a fun way to get students familiar with these career paths and maybe spark some interest for students as well. It was a great time and we just wanted to share the pictures below and let everyone get an idea of what they got to do the last couple of days!

NEW opportunity called...Wolfpack Connect offers guaranteed admission to students who complete an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree at a North Carolina Community College. This program provides a clear roadmap to earning a bachelor’s degree at NC State, reducing uncertainty and encouraging degree completion.

Good morning! Just wanted to highlight this opportunity that Lenoir Community College is offering during the holiday time frame. There will be 5-week online classes for transfer classes during December and this will be great chance for students to knock out a college class quickly and add on to those college credits for free! The only requirements are to have a 2.5 GPA and to have already taken an LCC class before this. Below is the list of classes. If you have a student that is interested, please have them reach out to Ms. Pam Gonzalez, who is here on Mondays at Greene Central. Have a great day!

The Counseling Center took two buses to a College Fair and a tour of ECU's campus. Needless to say the students enjoyed themselves and learned about a lot of opportunities.

Where are the local Wolfpack students?!?

This week NC State University announced a new program "Wolfpack Connect" that provides a guaranteed admissions pathway to NC State for North Carolina community college students.

Students who earn an associate’s degree, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and meet NC State’s admission deadlines can transfer and enroll in more than 100 eligible NC State majors and concentrations.

The first three community college partners are Wake Technical Community College, Central Piedmont Community College, and Forsyth Technical Community College.

All 58 North Carolina community colleges have the opportunity to join the program through October 17, after which they can join annually.

The program will begin accepting eligibility forms in late January 2026 for a Fall 2026 start. Forms are due by June 1.
