GCMS is proud to be recognized alongside other Eastern North Carolina districts as members of the initial nationwide Lemelson InVent Education cohort.

Teachers from every grade level were able to receive professional development training free of charge and will be implementing more hands on opportunities for students thanks to the Lemelson Grant Fund in conjunction with our Greene County Schools STEM program.

Great things are ahead.

About 6 years ago students in Mr. Lococo’s 8th Grade World History Class began reading Eleven by Tom Rogers as part of our teachings about 9/11. Throughout the last few years it’s continued with last year Mrs. Brennans 6th grade ELA class. Recently the author asked for quotes to be part of the 25th Anniversary edition and 2 of our Students and Mr.Lococo and Mrs. Brennan were featured in it. Today we received those books and presented them to the students to keep. Great Job Ladies!
