🎓Senior Spotlight: Evan Hartline🎓
Evan’s journey at Two Rivers is a powerful example of how support, determination, and perseverance can completely change a person’s outlook on life. When he first came to Two Rivers, graduating on time didn’t seem possible, but with support from the program and staff, he found a new perspective, stronger work ethic, and motivation beyond simply making his parents happy. Now, just two months away from graduation, Evan is balancing two jobs while working toward college goals he once never thought he’d pursue. His family shared that although Evan has always been determined and purposeful, they watched him transform from a self-doubting teen into a confident young man after finding Two Rivers during a difficult time in school. Earning his diploma is an especially meaningful milestone for their family, and they are deeply grateful for the encouragement and support extended to Evan along the way!✨

🎓Senior Spotlight: Paloma Fernandez🎓
A success story would be an understatement. Paloma first came to Two Rivers a quiet student with little interest in school. Fast forward to Senior year and she has exceeded all the expectations to graduate. Not only has Paloma been successful academically, but she's also had a big impact in the community. Through her internship at the Mt. Si Senior Center and volunteering at Kawanis, she's built relationships and found joy in helping others. We will miss the bright energy she brings to Two Rivers, and we wish her the best of luck on her adventures after high school. We know she will continue to make a positive impact wherever she goes!✨

Last week, all staff and students went on our annual field trip up to Snoqualmie Pass. Students could choose between various outdoor activities. Our biking group started the morning with breakfast at the pass before riding all the way back to Two Rivers, which is about 30 miles! Way to go!😅 Others explored the abandoned railroad tunnel along The Snoqualmie Valley Trail. Cold and dark, but we came prepared! Back at the Berghaus, students went on a nature scavenger hunt or got an introduction into fly fishing all while taking in the beautiful mountain views. After a full day of activities, everyone enjoyed a delicious bratwurst lunch. A huge thank you to Jim and Ingrid Garhart for helping make this field trip possible by sharing their mountain home with us and hosting such a wonderful lunch. Thanks to Coach Kinnune, as well, for helping out in the kitchen! We are so grateful for this opportunity and were extra grateful for the weather.
