WilderSci Studies - Snohomish

On Monday 6/17, I’m hosting my first class of awesome kiddos for a WilderSci Summer Session. We’re learning all about bears with games, lessons and conversation.
I’m so excited and can’t wait to see how it goes!!

I’m the type of mom who wants to know “WHAT” my kids are learning and as a homeschool parent, I feel like that has only intensified! Here are just some of the things the kids will gain through Monday’s class.
Invisible learning through the games we’ll play:
Awareness, teamwork, strategy, trickery, agility, feeling fully alive, proprioception - body position and movement, developing an unconscious understanding of helping each other, building a sense of a group.
Subjects covered in lessons:
Math, Science, Environmental Education, Language Arts

Plus all the other amazing benefits of mixed age learning, being outside in nature, moving our bodies, and practicing their listening skills with lessons delivered by someone besides mom or dad.

I have so many goals for the kids who take my classes but some of my other hopes are that they gain a bigger love for nature, a better understanding of things that may be scary (like bears!) and knowledge they can expand on throughout their lives with lived experiences.

I’m really excited to host my first WilderSci Summer Sessions this summer. This first round will be private and I am so looking forward to time with these kiddos doing cool things in nature!
