On September 12, 2026, the is hosting its signature event, - the semi-formal themed event encourages a "Harlem Nights" style attire and classy affair for the 21 and older audience (this includes singles AND couples) to meet and greet and come together for a festive occasion.

Making the event more meaningful is the purpose; proceeds support the foundation's efforts ranging from its (male-mentoring program) to the scholarship opportunities for students. In and of itself, the Alpha Derby ™️ via the Alphas of Atlanta, Inc. is a top-notch event, as this year (April 30-May 3, 2026) marks its 11th year.

However, beyond the pageantry is the purpose behind the event.

This summer, the foundation expands its grant program to provide support for fellow nonprofits for their community focused programming. Ranging from education-based endeavors, mentoring, health and wellness, along with enrichment initiatives, their signature event helps leave a larger footprint in communities across the Metro-Atlanta area.

The creative leadership of recently sat down with Khrys Styles to discuss the upcoming edition (Year 4) of the event, as it takes place on October 4, 2026. Dr Shenita Scott, Robin Latimore (one of the performing artists), and DeMarcus Felton (the director of bands/jazz ensemble at Jonesboro HS) take time to speak on the event. Proceeds are supporting the jazz ensemble's efforts, as the event takes place at Spivey Hall, an ideal venue for the top-notch artists featured in an elegant and sophisticated setting.
