HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! .clo and I had a wonderful rehearsal today. We are excited to have our first performance coming up on March 7th! We thought we’d share this gorgeous piece by the loveliest . It was originally written for voice, with this text by Traix Heiden:
Misty rain falls in droves
Continuously, hypnotizing
With the millions of little droplets
And their millions of little imperfections.
They distort light, yet are one
With the air - these peculiar diamonds
Of the sky.
Maybe I’ll cut one up
And put it on a ring.

I received this beautiful orchid last year on Chinese Teacher Appreciation Day. Not only am I surprised that it has survived under my care, but it survived while I was gone for nearly 2 months!
It is budding and I look forward to seeing its beautiful blooms again!

Even the amazing André Watts makes mistakes!
Mistakes are made by everyone. We learn from those mistakes, then make more mistakes to learn from. It's important that we make mistakes! :))
Fred Rogers : Fearless Authenticity Concert pianist André Watts plays pieces by Schubert, Liszt, and Chopin and talks about how much he learns from his mistakes. Mister Rogers helps children understand that making mistakes is an important and helpful part of learning.
