We teach classes in guitar making, guitar building and design, the Lutherie Arts and Luthier profession.

We are your school of choice, if you would like to do any of the following:
1). You would like to build or repair guitars as a professional Luthier.
2). You would like to do custom and vintage guitar building as a business.
3). You would like to work both as a Luthier and music professional.

Instruments that students may choose from for building:
1.) electric guitar - vintage, classic or custom design
2.) electric bass - electric acoustic or electric standard 4 & 6 string design
3.) acoustic guitar - vintage or standard design
4.) electric lap steel guitar - vintage or custom design
5.) ukulele - vintage or classic design, 4 & 6 string with optional custom
pickup
6.) hollow body electric guitar - six string design

Both of your Lutherie Arts Education Instructors are skilled in all of these areas of instrument construction and design.

To determine which instruments best meets your goals, students need to look at what they wish to accomplish and look at the options.

Whatever the area of guitar building, guitar repair and the lutherie arts education you choose to study. Our school in Atlanta, is the place where you can learn guitar repair and building from professional Luthiers, who together have decades of mastering Industrial Arts and Luthiery, your Instructors are Brian Malone and Gary Moore. Atlanta Guitar Works School of Building and Repair, is a complete course to learn vintage guitar building, design and setup in both electric and acoustic guitars.

We teach students who are seeking a career in custom guitar building & repair or as a serious vocation in life.

At Atlanta Guitar Works School of Building and Repair - Lutherie Arts Education ©, we focus on a small select group, so as to meet the needs of each of our Lutherie Arts Education students.

Our goal is to teach all aspects of our program in an holistic manner and give the student an opportunity to take some creative liberties with respect to design.

transferring patterns / making templates / preparing body blanks / preparing neck blanks / neck shaping / fretboard preparation / neck setting / proper gluing techniques / fretboard making and tonewood selections / routing for neck hardware and pickguard making / sculpting wood and carving / using bindings, truss rod installation / making bone nuts and saddles / correctly locating the bridge and tailpiece / doing other special hardware fabrications such as ( k***s, pickup rings, tailpieces) / plus vintage pickup designs / pickup hardware and the art of custom pickup design / the making of your own guitar pickups / lacquer and stain finishing / hand oil finishes / drafting and design presentation / professional guitar setup and repair. “
