June is Pride Month! This month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall protest in New York City and recognizes the incredible impact that le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and intersex (LGBTQI+) individuals have had on history—locally, nationally, and internationally. 🌍❤️

Today, the Britt Elementary family pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of America’s armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🦅✨ Their courage and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

As a reminder to our Comet families, all Gwinnett County Public Schools and offices are CLOSED today, Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day. 🏫🔒

The final bell has officially rung at Britt Elementary, and our Comets have officially blasted off into summer vacation! 🚀⛱️ What an absolutely phenomenal, memory-packed, and successful school year it has been! 🏫💙🩶💙

From the very first day back in August to the high-fives and hugs at dismissal today, our students have shown incredible growth, kindness, and dedication. 📈🧠 We watched them crush their academic goals, shine on stage, dominate on Field Day, and build friendships that will last a lifetime! 🌟🤝

A mountain of gratitude goes to our world-class teachers and staff who poured their hearts into their classrooms every single day, and to our wonderful Comet families whose partnership makes all the difference. We truly achieved Excellence Together this year! 🤝❤️

Parents, educators, and students: you have earned this break! Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer filled with books, sunshine, and laughter. We will miss you, but we can't wait to see you back in August! ☀️📚🍦

🎓🎉 HATS OFF TO OUR GRADUATES & THE ULTIMATE FINAL WALK! 🎉🎓

What a monumental 24 hours it has been for our 5th Grade Comets! We are still bursting with pride after a series of unforgettable milestones as our oldest students prepare to blast off to middle school! 🚀🏫💙🩶💙

First, our scholars took the big stage at South Gwinnett High School for their official Graduation Ceremony! 🏛️✨ The atmosphere was absolutely electric as they marched in to receive their certificates and awards, looking every bit the future leaders they are! 📜🎓

Then, today, the celebration came right back home to where it all began for our 5th Grade Final Walk around Britt Elementary! 🏃‍♂️💨 Current students and staff lined the hallways, cheering, high-fiving, and waving signs to give our graduating Comets a true hero's send-off as they walked these halls one last time as elementary students. 🎒👋❤️

A massive, heartfelt shout-out goes to our phenomenal Britt teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly and poured in endless love to prepare these students for their next big step. And to our amazing Comet families—your constant involvement and partnership are what make this community so incredibly special! 🤝❤️📈

From the first days of Kindergarten to walking the stage and taking their final lap today, these students have created memories that will last a lifetime. 🌟

Next stop: Middle School! 🏫

👟✨ SPARKLE, SWAGGER, AND SNEAKERS! ✨👟

Our 5th Grade Comets officially wrapped up an unforgettable 5th Grade Spirit Week in the most stylish way possible! They danced the night away at the "Sparkle & Swagger Sneaker Ball," and the energy was absolutely electric! 💃🔥

We were so proud to host this monumental celebration right here in the heart of our South Gwinnett community at the gorgeous Snellville City Hall! 🏛️💙🩶💙 Our future middle schoolers traded their everyday school shoes for their finest, fliest kicks, matching their sneakers with incredible outfits full of sparkle and personality! 🌟👟

The night was packed with:
🎧 A live DJ dropping the best beats that kept the dance floor packed!
🍕 Delicious food, sweet treats, and refreshing drinks!
📸 Stacks of photos, infinite laughter, and priceless memories made with friends, teachers, and families!

This event was the perfect celebration of all the hard work, growth, and leadership these students have shown during their time at Britt Elementary. As they get ready to step up to middle school, they proved they’ve got the confidence, style, and heart to take on the world! 🚀🎓🏆

📢 SPEAKING OF EXCELLENCE! 📢 Today, May 18th, is Speech-Language Pathologist Day, and the Britt Elementary family is celebrating and shining a spotlight on our two phenomenal SLPs, Rebekah Lawson and Jaime Eskridge! 🎙️🏫💙🩶💙

Many people don't realize just how many hats our SLPs wear! Every day, Ms. Lawson and Ms. Eskridge work tirelessly behind the scenes to help our Comets unlock their full potential.

They are experts at:
🗣️ Helping students articulate their thoughts and find their unique voices.
📚 Boosting reading, listening, and understanding in the classroom.
🤝 Teaching key conversation and social communication tools so students can build lifelong friendships.
🧠 Turning communication challenges into major triumphs! 🏆

Ms. Lawson and Ms. Eskridge, your expertise and heart make a difference in our hallways at Britt. Your boundless dedication, patience, and gentle care leave a lasting, life-changing impact on child you support. You give our Comets the tools and confidence to stand tall and speak proud!

🏆FIELD DAY 2026: THE CHAMPIONS ARE HERE!🏆

That’s a wrap on one of our favorite days of the year! Field Day at Britt Elementary was buzzing with energy, laughter, and some serious Comet competition this week! 🏆 We had a blast watching our students give it their all in every event! It was the perfect way to celebrate a year of hard work and "Excellence Together!"

Our Comets showed off their skills in:

🥔 Potato Sack Races (So much jumping!)
🏃‍♂️ High-Speed Relay Races
🥄🥚Egg and Spoon Walks
⭕ Hula Hoop Contests
💦 Water Bucket Challenges (The best way to cool down!)

An even bigger THANK YOU to our wonderful Physical Education Teacher, Coach Robertson, our amazing front office team, and our dedicated team of teachers and staff at Britt Elementary for working together excellently and making this year's Field Day one to remember!🙏🏼

✨ A WEEK TO REMEMBER FOR OUR 5TH GRADE COMETS! ✨

Our 5th Graders just finished their last full week of elementary school, and they certainly went out with a bang! 💥 From themed dress-up days to special treats, 5th Grade Spirit Week was a non-stop celebration of our future middle schoolers! 🎓💙🩶💙

Here is how our 5th Grade Comets celebrated their milestone week:

🥞 Monday: Cozy vibes with Pajama Day and a delicious Pancake Breakfast!
🎸 Tuesday: We saw some amazing talent at Album Cover Day and enjoyed a food-truck picnic!
👯 Wednesday: Seeing double! It was "Twin with a Friend" Day plus a refreshing Frozen Treat!
🏀 Thursday: Sporting our favorite colors for Jersey Day and bringing the fun for Game Day!
☀️ Friday: Capping it all off with Hat & Sunglass Day and our FABULOUS final Field Day!

We are so proud of the leadership and spirit these students have shown throughout their years at Britt. It was a week filled with laughter, friendship, and memories that will last a lifetime! 🏫💫

This special occasion was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the incredible work Mr. McCarty and his team do each and every day.

Mr. Mitch isn't just a Head Custodian; he is a leader, a mentor, and a vital part of why our school shines so bright! 🌟 His dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence ensure that Britt remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where our Comets can focus, grow, and thrive. 🏫💙🩶💙

From the sparkling floors to his friendly waves in the hallway, Mr. Mitch goes above and beyond to support our students, staff, and community. We are so lucky to have his leadership and his heart on our team! 🤝💪
