Grad students and nonprofits are learning from each other in a partnership for the public good
A little bit of history, Dr. Louis Pasteur developed the process of pasteurization because one of the requirements of being an academic (in those days) was helping the community with a problem. Back then, it was wine that was spoiling (basically turning into vinegar) and thus their products were ruined.
“I started grad school with the idea that it would help to have a deep knowledge of the social conditions that created the issues that I’m interested in like labor, public health, disability and aging,”

Happy Memorial Day
The history of Memorial Day 2022 dates back to the American Civil War. It started as an event to honour soldiers who had died during the war. It is said to be inspired by the way people in the Southern states honoured the dead. The original national celebration of Decoration Day took place on 30 May 1868. There was over twenty four cities and towns across the United States that claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. Waterloo (New York) was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966. In the late 19th century, the holiday (previously known as Decoration Day) became known as Memorial Day and was expanded to include the deceased veterans of all the wars fought by American forces. Originally, the holiday used to be celebrated on May 30, regardless of the day of the week that it fell on. In 1968, the Uniform Holidays Bill was passed and as a result the day changed.

I like to provide all sides of the coin. If a graduate degree is a requirement (such as a job in higher education), then this would not apply to you.

Is an online or a seated PhD program the better choice?
There are multiple options when it comes to completing your doctoral degree. The two most common types are online and seated programs. Both types have pluses and minuses. The ability to complete the program and the ability to obtain a meaningful position post-graduation are two questions you need to ask yourself. For those who are working, online might be the only option. For those who are early in their career a seated program might provide more opportunities to supplement the lack of work experiences.
