5K Run to Benefit DASEF
Each year, Delaware state agencies raise funds for various charities in September and October. This year, they are hosting a 5K Run on October 17th in memory of Bill Conway who passed recently at the age of 49, leaving behind a wife and three boys. DASEF was selected as the charity of benefit for the 5K because Bill was passionate about STEM education and his boys attended programs hosted by DASEF when they were younger.

Artemis Mission Spurs New Race For Moon Base

Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

National Geographic (4/10, Andrews) reported the successful Artemis II mission has ignited a new space race for a permanent lunar presence. According to National Geographic,

“The near-future moon was watched over by an array of yet-to-be-launched satellites. Earth’s companion will require its own versions of our planet’s GPS and telecommunications networks in the sky.”

The initial version “will either be launched by a private company, or by a space agency; Europe’s Moonlight project, for example, hopes to deploy a small constellation of lunar satellites in the next few years.

Lengthy base-building, particularly using LTVs, will require a network like this to operate.”
