We are so excited to announce and welcome our new DeKalb County FCS Agent, Mrs. Mykaela Young! Mykaela earned her Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Tennessee at Martin in May 2026. Her Extension career began in 2021 when she joined UT Extension as the 4-H Youth Development Agent in DeKalb County. In that role, she provided leadership and created educational opportunities that helped youth develop essential life skills and reach their full potential.

In her new role as Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, Mykaela is excited to serve the families of her hometown by providing practical, research-based education in nutrition and wellness, food preservation, financial management, family resource management, and life skills. She is passionate about helping individuals and families build healthier, stronger, and more sustainable lifestyles.

Spend just 10–15 minutes a day completing fun family challenges focused on health, wellness, cooking, money management, and quality time. It’s designed with busy families in mind—even during the first week of school! 🥳

Don’t forget!! Monday and Tuesday we will be set up to craft the days away!! 🥳 Bring some crafting things if you’ve got it or if you don’t, we got you covered! Come join us! ☺️

Do you have your DeKalb County Fair entries ready?? If not, we’ve got you covered! We will have a variety of arts and crafts supplies ready for you all to use for all of your crafting needs for your fair entries!! If you live in DeKalb County, come by and craft with us!! 🥳
