A Step Above Preschool A Step Above Preschool is licensed through the State of Missouri to provide care for families and children from birth through twelve years of age.

We blend Montessori & traditional styles to implement social & emotional skills along with academic success. Andy and Jan Worley purchased the property July 30, 2004. It was renovated from a church to its current layout as a preschool. We opened our doors for business in January 2005. The Worley's lived in Smithville for over 20 years and have five children ranging in ages from 30-13 years old. Th

ey both share a deep love for children and their wellbeing. That shared interest is what led them to open a preschool as well as to be foster parents. They truly feel children are a gift from God and that nurturing children early in life is essential in being a healthy member of society. A Step Above Preschool strives to meet the needs of all children enrolled. We care for children 6 weeks -12 years of age with preschool starting as early as 12 months of age. Teaching children at a young age is essential and continuing to challenge them is proven to enhance their cognitive ability. All areas of development are incorporated into their curriculum to enhance physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language and creative expression. We mix traditional learning with Montessori to fit every child's needs. We empower children by encouraging them in positive ways. We want our school to be a place your child enjoys coming to and you feel confident your child is getting the best care & learning possible. We decided to be licensed through the State of Missouri. This gives parents reassurance we are in compliance with the State Fire Marshall, Department of Health and Senior Services, Section for Childcare Regulation, and the Health Department.

🐣 Something Egg-citing is Happening in Pre-K! 🐣

Our little learners are getting a hands-on lesson in life cycles as we hatch baby chicks! Our incubator is set up, the eggs are cozy, and now we wait for the big moment. Over the next few weeks, our Pre-K students will be watching, learning, and eagerly anticipating the arrival of our fluffy new friends.
