Peggy Sue Wisley Wampler, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that guided her throughout her life. She was a devoted mother of her two sons, John and Teresa Sowders and Gary and Nancy Sowders. She is also

Skibo Friends - oh how I have waited patiently to see each of you on Saturday October 18, 2025 for our annual Smithville High School Alumni and friends reunion!

I’m so excited about the sweet program that will be presented on our alumni night! We will be honoring the young Skibo men whose names are etched (by loving hands) in the Smithville memorial. I have contacted many family members of the young men and asked if they mind that alumni night we will share the young men (19 boys) and celebrate that many walked the halls of SHS just as we did!

The stories we have learned will be shared with you and pray the stories will touch your heart like it has ours as we uncover their treasures.

Recently we received a donation from Deb Watson (wife of John Watson) she gave us his army uniform - it’s be cleaned and pressed - it is so handsome! It will be on display alumni night!

The trophy/memory case will be lit to begin SHS alumni celebration of our beloved country’s 250th birthday!

If you want to wear our SHS red and white just add a little blue to represent our country and school!

Bring pictures of your loved ones that served our country / we will take a picture of you holding the picture of your loved one - if you served bring your pic! Be sure to put the name to the pic to be put on a military wall for the museum! If you don’t have a pic let me know I might have one to share with you!

Recently a sweet treasure was found in the museum - Ralph Sylvester Jr (Curt’s Sylvester’s brother) we assume during Ralph’s SHS high school years a theme paper he wrote has been in one of the cabinets in the museum for probably 30years. Such a special gift for Curt to research on alumni night!

We so look forward to seeing you and we say thank you our military folks and salute you our dear Skibos!
