Hello Eagle Families!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22, we will resume regular operations. Doors will open at 7:15 and classes begin at 8:00 a.m.

Due to the forecast for freezing weather, and out of an abundance of caution for all students and staff traveling to school, FBC Sonshine Academy will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 21st.

We will continue to monitor the weather and will send updates about the plan for Wednesday.

As we approach this Christmas Season, our 2nd & 3rd grade students have learned about Legends and Folk Tales and were able to make candy cane ornaments to take home. They can use these ornaments as a reminder of "The Legend of the Candy Cane".

Our Kindergarten students were practicing their sight words and our Pre-K students have been working on their fine motor skills, spatial reasoning and problem solving skills.

Today our students had such a great time 'visiting' different countries today during our 2nd Annual Christmas Around the World.

This morning our students were able to visit Italy, Mexico, England and The Netherlands. They enjoyed each and every stop. Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped everything run smoothly!

Last week our students were able to spread some Christmas cheer at Towers Nursing Home.

Then they were able to sip some delicious hot cocoa! It was absolutely beautiful seeing all the smiles on the resident's faces!

🎉 Congratulations to Our Head of School! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating a HUGE accomplishment! Our incredible Head of School, Raylynne Fillman, is in Denton, Texas today to graduate from Texas Woman’s University with her Master’s in Library Science! 👩‍🎓✨

Her hard work and dedication inspire us all, and we’re so blessed to have her leadership guiding our school and library. We are so grateful for the incredible team God has given us in our school. Let’s show her some love and appreciation for this amazing achievement! ❤️

The pies ordered for our Christmas Pie Fundraiser have arrived. Please make sure when you pick up your student, that you also pick up your pies as well!🥧

Pies are located in the Fellowship Hall.

Due to weather, we have cancelled student participation in the Festival of Lights parade this evening.

There will still be a float representing the FBC Sonshine Academy, we would love to see you out there.
