About the Program
Participants are immersed in the natural world and gain authentic field science experience within the diverse habitats of Sunken Meadow State Park. During this four-day program participants will explore the varied ecosystems of Long Island and their inhabitants, discover geologic processes that shaped Long Island, and will develop strategies to help conserve valuable natural resources. Participants will also engage in interactive hikes and foster new friendships through team building activities.
For 25+ years, SCOPE has operated respected summer programs in cooperation with Western Suffolk BOCES for students
across Long Island.

• Masks required indoors at
all times and outdoors when social distancing is not possible
• Regular sanitization of shared materials
• Hand sanitizer available at all times
• Social distancing when possible
Program Details
Participants are supervised at all times by experienced, qualified environmental science educators.
Who can participate?
• Any student entering grades 7, 8, or 9
What are the times of the program?
• Monday-Thursday
8am-2pm
Participants must bring a cold lunch and a water bottle daily.
Program Cost
$450 per child
Included in the program fee:
Small group sizes led by trained naturalists
All materials and supplies
Staff who are trained in First Aid, CPR, and AED
