🔵🟡 Smithsburg FFA Alumni meeting is March 2nd @7 located at Smithsburg High School in Mr. Ruark’s room.

Former meeting update [Feb. 2nd meeting]:

* Addie reported upcoming FFA week activities
* Updated Alumni on other FFA chapters and projects
* Bounced around ideas to get more people involved and engage in the community
* Collected member dues and donations for shelter buckets
* Passed out FFA t-shirts
* Conducted officer elections:

Upcoming meeting March 2nd we will:

🔹Report on FFA week turnout
🔹Think about setting up a booth at the Smithsburg farmers market for awareness, recruitment, and community service
🔹Discuss a possible social for former members to socialize and look at FFA scrape books.
🔹Consider a collaboration with other FFA alumni

We will:
🔹Elect officers (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer)
🔹Collect member dues $10
🔹Discuss future events in FFA (Ex. Ag Mechanics, butterfly garden, and terrace)
🔹Brainstorm fundraiser ideas
🔹Raise $65 to get a FFA jacket for a FFA member or donate
🔹Properly frame the original Charter
🔹FFA week and Farm day
🔹Support the Shelter Bucket project the FFA is doing for FFA week

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to come tonight. We greatly appreciate it and look forward to more to come! Today’s meeting we decided to have meetings on the first Thursday of the month @7. We discussed ideas and fun memories along with ways the alumni can support the FFA and the community.

🟡 Join Smithsburg FFA Alumni on Jan. 19th for our first meeting @5:30 held in Mr. Ruark's room at Smithsburg High School. First right turn when entering the premises. Door is to the left beside shop garage door. Room # 112

Who can join?
🔵 ANY adult who is interested in agriculture and wants to support Smithsburg FFA.
🟡 Whether you were a former FFA member, just interested in promoting agriculture, want to be active in your community, or simply want to learn more about Ag, you are welcome to join Smithsburg FFA Alumni.
🔺[You do not have to be from Smithsburg or even reside in Smithsburg to join.]🔺

What can you provide?
🔵 Time. Your time is valuable! You reap what you sow, so help us strengthen the next generation in Ag.
🟡 Talent. Maybe you are knowledgeable in Ag mechanics, and you can assist to prepare the Ag mechanics team. Maybe, you know a thing or two in business which you can provide knowledge for the Agribusiness team. Maybe, you showed dairy and can assist FFA members in dairy judging. Along with many other things!
🔵 Financial resources. The kids in FFA could be our next generation in Agriculture in which we have the opportunity to aid in their journeys, like raising money for new Ag mechanic gear, FFA jackets, or field trips.
🟡 AGvocates. If you have a passion for Ag, joining Smithsburg FFA Alumni is a great outlet to educate and support our community about agriculture.
🔵 Creativity. The agriculture industry is evolving. We want to hear your ideas for promoting and supporting Ag!

What can you gain?
🟡 Common fellowship
🔵 Stronger sense of community
🟡 Meet the kids who could be our next farmers, Ag scientists, Ag businessmen and women, and Ag teachers.

Come support the Smithsburg FFA at the Smithsburg Steam and Craft Show Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th from 9-4. They are making custom metal signs too. Smithsburg High School FFA
