A group of Leopards continue their successful year this summer!

Former Leopard assistant coach, and Funkstown Legion manager Bobby Keller leads his 2026 squad to the Maryland Legion state title! Massive congratulations to Funkstown on their incredible year, bringing another state title home to Wash Co!

Coach Keller, assisted by former Leopard Head Coach Patrick Moore led this group featuring Smithsburg grads Gavin Ramarge, Heath Githens, Mason Oates and Ryan Darr, along with current Leopards Gavin Blumenauer and George Mantz to a 5-0 record in their state title run! We extend great pride and congratulations to our current and former Leopards continuing to excel on the Diamond! Best of luck to all these Leopards in their chase for a regional championship!

Please join us in congratulating Jordan Tapley on being named the new Head Baseball Coach at Smithsburg High School!

A proud 2016 Smithsburg graduate, Coach Tapley has deep roots in Leopard Baseball.

Coach Tapley served as an assistant coach for the Leopards' back-to-back Regional Championship teams in 2025 and 2026, helping guide the program to one of the most successful stretches in school history.

In addition to his time at Smithsburg, Coach Tapley has gained valuable coaching experience with St. Maria Goretti High School, Funkstown Post 211 Senior Legion, and Barrel Nation. He also served as Head Coach of Funkstown Post 211 Junior Legion, where he built a reputation as a dedicated leader and mentor to young athletes.

Coach Tapley embodies what it means to be a Leopard, and we are excited for the future of Smithsburg Baseball under his leadership.

Congratulations, Coach Tapley! The future is bright in Purple and Gold!
